Comprehensive Engineering and Consulting Solutions

San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) – Pole Loading and Asset Management Program, California, USA
For SDG&E's ongoing asset management program, TAWARA, in its capacity as an independent consultant for KOSMOS (formerly West Power Energy), performed comprehensive pole loading analysis, strength, and clearance assessments on numerous 69 kV to 138 kV transmission and distribution lines. Key deliverables included detailed PLS-CADD models and line assessment reports to ensure NERC compliance and guide critical replacement or remediation strategies. | 2019-2025

San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) – Fiber Attachment Program, California, USA
Serving as an independent consultant to KOSMOS (formerly West Power Energy), TAWARA delivered end-to-end engineering for this large-scale fiber attachment program. The work involved conducting strength and clearance analyses to support the addition of third-party ADSS cables onto existing SDG&E structures. TAWARA managed the process from preliminary design through to as-built documentation, ensuring the long-term structural integrity of the poles under new combined loading conditions. | 2019-2024

BC Hydro – Remediation of 500 kV Line Clearance Violations, British Columbia, Canada
Our team was tasked with providing engineered solutions to correct clearance violations on a 500 kV lattice tower transmission line. We delivered a full construction package that included options for raising existing structures and re-tensioning conductors, supported by detailed structural analysis and PLS-Tower modeling to ensure safety and regulatory compliance. | 2017-2019

BC Hydro – Cell Site Program – Third-Party Attachments, British Columbia, Canada
Under BC Hydro's program for third-party wireless attachments, our team performed structural analysis and designed upgrades for numerous high-voltage structures, ranging from 138 kV poles to 500 kV lattice towers. The engineering work was necessary to safely accommodate the additional loading imposed by cellular carrier equipment, ensuring the continued structural integrity of the transmission assets. | 2019-2024

KPIL Mumbai – Full Model Cascade Effect Simulations
TAWARA was contracted by KPIL Mumbai to perform full model cascade effect simulations for a transmission line consisting of 20 guyed towers. The scope required the construction of a detailed finite element model to analyze structural behavior under wind-only load cases. The project involved simulating the forced collapse of a single tower to monitor the impact on adjacent structures, with final deliverables including a detailed report and a video of the simulation. | 2024-2025

SBEE – 63 kV Gakpe-Ouidah Line and Tower Design, Benin
TAWARA was responsible for the complete line and tower design for the new 14 km, 63 kV Gakpe-Ouidah transmission line for the Société Béninoise d’Énergie Électrique (SBEE). The scope involved designing the lattice steel towers and conducting all associated structural analysis to meet CEB technical standards. Using specialized software like TOWER and PLS-CADD, TAWARA delivered a comprehensive design package covering tower geometry, load case analysis, and foundation. | 2024–Ongoing

BC Hydro – Distribution Aerial Crossing, British Columbia, Canada
For BC Hydro's distribution engineering team, TAWARA is providing the engineering design for the 220C01 distribution aerial crossing over the Fraser River in Lillooet. The project involves replacing eight critical poles making up two four-pole structures on either side of the river and assessing two adjacent poles for due diligence. TAWARA's scope includes the geometric non-linear modeling of all poles, foundation analysis, and the preparation of a complete design package. | 2024–Ongoing

BC Hydro – Farrel Creek Feasibility Study, British Columbia, Canada
TAWARA was engaged by BC Hydro's distribution team to conduct a feasibility study for the Farrel Creek crossing. The objective was to evaluate the possibility of adding two new communication wires across the existing 432-meter span. The study involved analyzing the structural impact on the existing pole structures, confirming that all mid-span clearance requirements would be met, and assessing the increase in pole loading. TAWARA concluded that the addition was feasible and provided key recommendations for guying and hardware to ensure structural integrity. | 2025–Ongoing

BC Hydro – Masset Feeders Reconductoring Assessment, British Columbia, Canada
For BC Hydro's distribution team, TAWARA performed a detailed assessment for the reconductoring of the MAS 51 and MAS 52 feeders in Masset, BC. The project involved analyzing approximately 35 structures along a 2.1 km section of the double-circuit distribution line. Using PLS-CADD, TAWARA evaluated pole loading and structural performance under three different reconductoring scenarios to assess the impact on the existing wood pole structures. | 2025–Ongoing

Detailed Technical Studies and Construction Control of Industrial Hangars
TAWARA was mandated to perform detailed technical studies and provide internal control for the construction of two industrial hangars, covering 2,000 m² and 450 m² respectively.

Technical Studies and Supervision of Irrigated Perimeter Development
This project focused on the sustainable development of an irrigated agricultural perimeter in Bougourma. TAWARA conducted the complete technical studies for the irrigation system, including hydraulic analysis and infrastructure design.

Remediation of 500 kV Transmission Line Clearance Violations
Following a road construction that created a clearance violation, TAWARA was tasked with engineering a solution for the 5L081 500kV circuit.
